The currency market hours refers to the operating hours of the currency market. The currency market opens and closes at different times based on the time zone and it runs all through the day giving the trader the rare chance of trading in the market when it is convenient for them.   1. New York opens and closes between 01:00 pm – 10:00 pm GMT;

  4. London opens at 8:00 am and closes at 05:00 pm GMT.

This opens between 8 am GMT to 5pm GMT and the major currency pairs traded or most active are  EUR, GBP and USD.


This open between 1 pm GMT and closes around 10 pm GMT. The most active currency pairs in this market includes the USD, JPY, AUD, GBP, and EUR.


This opens at about 10 pm GMT on Sunday afternoon, and goes into the European trading session at about 9 am GMT. This is the most suitable currency trading hour for day trading.
