On October 30th, Donald Trump’s former campaign manager became known to be indicted on twelve counts. Paul Manafort is charged with conspiracy against the State and money laundering. The charges are brought for the first time by the by Special commission of Prosecutor Robert Mueller, who investigated the alleged Russia’s interference with the presidential election in the USA.
Rick Gates, a former business partner and deputy in Trump’s campaign of Mr Manafort is also indicted with the same charges. According to Prosecutor Robert Mueller, they both surrendered to the FBI.
Twelve counts, the both are indicted on, include conspiracy against the United States, unregistered agent of a foreign principal, conspiracy to launder money, false statements, and seven counts of failure to file reports of foreign bank and financial accounts.
The case alleges that both men cooperated with Ukraine political parties and leaders and generated tens of millions of dollars of income as a result. From 2006 to 2016 they laundered money to hide their profits from US authorities.
