Marcio Felix, Brazil’s oil and gas secretary, expressed the country’s position concerning the issue of joining OPEC’s agreement to cut oil output in both the countries-members of OPEC and big oil producing countries that don’t belong to the organization. As Mr Felix explained, there had already been many talks with Saudi Arabia regarding the subject.
The latest one was just a week ago. However, Brazil reminds every time that the country’s government has no right to interfere with the oil market and therefore cannot join OPEC’s agreement to reduce production of “black gold”. According to Mr Felix, it’s the oil companies’ concern. As Marcio Felix said, Brazil had not been invited to the next OPEC’s meeting.
