On October 8th, one SegWit2x project of the leaders, Mike Belsh stated that there won’t be Bitcoin Cash fork, expected in November. He explained that the consensus necessary to upgrade the block size wasn't reached. According to Belsh, the project has never set the goal to be a setback for Bitcoin growth. In the meanwhile, that can be caused by the fork if they “ continuing on the current path”
Besides, SegWit2x leader emphasized that, the necessity to increase the network capacity is inevitable. Mike Belsh expressed the hope, that when that happens, all the Bitcoin community will unite to find a solution, possibly with a blocksize change. Until then, he adds, they suspend their SegWit2x plans to increase the block size to 2 megabytes .
