Bitstamp and KuCoin exchanges suspended Ethereum withdrawals owing to the network’s overload and instability, according to Bitcoin.com.
Because of frequent problems, KuCoin recommends that its clients give up Ethereum and use NEO to have permanent access to their money. In its turn, Bitstamp promises that the problems will be resolved in a few hours.
The instability of work with Ethereum is connected with a sharp increase in demand for the cryptocurrency and a boost in users’ activity. The number of transactions increased from 519,000 to 1.35 million in the period from last October to early January 2018.
Experts believe the activity must have increased due to the launch of the CryptoKitties game, which became extremely popular. Right afterwards, transfer fees increased and transactions got in a hang state for up to several days.
